I'm Laura, head designer, art director, and communicator at Laura Gilbert Design. I believe in trusting my instincts, listening to my clients, and that great design is about great communication. Communication design is what I love to do, and let's face it — life is too short to not love what you do every day.
Over the years, I've worked as a designer and art director with a variety of design firms, in-house creative teams, and on my own. This diverse experience allows me to comfortably work with all types and sizes of clients, often helping them to consider angles that may not have occurred to them.
I live in the Columbia City neighborhood of Seattle with my architect-husband, our super chatty 3-year-old son, and two feral rescue kitties named Lefty and Hazel.
How I work
My approach is collaborative, customer-focused, and hands-on. I ask the right questions and I listen carefully to gain a clear understanding of current circumstances, key objectives, and your vision. This gives me the insight I need to meet (and exceed) your expectations.
The work I do is customized. I will work with you to define a scope of work that fits your budget while delivering high quality — and high value — design work.

Successful design is a two-way street. If you choose to work with me, you can expect a smart, collaborative partner with a genuine commitment to your success and first-rate design work. I expect a few things from my clients as well:
